Message from the Editors

Hey kittygirls! It's the most wonderful time of the year—pride! Even though we can't celebrate together this year because of the pandemic, we still want to make this as joyous, fabulous, and loud as possible. That's why we're dedicating this issue to the Filipinx LGBTQ+ community. We hope that The PRIDE Issue can push forward the conversations that already exist in the Philippines regarding LGBTQ+ rights.

Speaking of which, throughout the month of June, we'll be highlighting notable Filipinx LGBTQ+ rights advocates and discussing terms that are related to LGBTQ+ struggles over on Instagram. Please follow us there if you haven't yet!

For The PRIDE Issue, we interviewed YouTubers and real-life couple Roanne and Tina, more popularly known to their fans as #RoTin, to ask them about their relationship, advocacies, and personal journeys to accepting their authentic selves. J will also discuss the SOGIE Bill and the state of LGBTQ+ rights in the Philippines, while E will talk about being an ally to the LGBTQ+ community as a cis and straight woman. We're also featuring Filipinx LGBTQ+ creators and influencers you should be following as well as some amazing contributions from our followers.

The PRIDE Issue is all about our freedom to self-expression, to love, and to be proud of who we are. So raise your rainbow flags, kittygirls! In a society that tells you that you're wrong for being yourself, let this issue be a small space on the internet where you can find solidarity, acceptance, and love.

We see you. We love you. Happy pride month!
